First Credit Union named "Arizona Lender Advocacy" award winner

Chandler, AZ – First Credit Union was recently named the "Arizona Lender Advocacy" award winner for 2009 by the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) for the State of Arizona. The ASBA has 4,000 members.

This award is given to the top lender that, in the eyes of Small Business Administration (SBA), strengthens Arizona's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting, or otherwise acting as a small business advocate either through its lending programs or support for Arizona small business as a voice.

"First Credit Union has always been a big supporter of small businesses and we will continue to work with those local business owners who have been hit the hardest in this rough economy. We have money to lend," said Jun Callanta, Commercial Loan Officer.

Selection is based on an evaluation of the lender's job creation or retention activities, loan performance, or general support of SBA programs that helps the small business community grow and prosper. This award is open to all lenders statewide.

The award was presented during Small Business Week on May 20, 2010 at the prestigious Arizona Biltmore. A total of 16 awards were presented to winners from both the lending and small business communities.
