First Credit Union Raises $50,000 to Children's Miracle Network
Funds benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital and Tucson Medical Center
Chandler, AZ – First Credit Union was recently honored by Phoenix Children's Hospital for their outstanding support of the 2009 Children's Miracle Network (CMN) "Credit Unions for Kids" fund-raising campaign. First Credit Union raised $50,500 for CMN as a result of the generous donations made by credit union members, employees and vendors.
First Credit Union's fundraising efforts included selling candy bars, piggy banks, placards, stuffed kangaroos and yo-yos at its branch teller lines. The credit union also sold casual days to its employees with all money going towards CMN. Additionally, the credit union participated in CO-OP Financial Services Miracle Match Program, which matches 150% of money raised through new fundraising projects.
Credit unions across the country raise funds for CMN annually through the Credit Union for Kids campaign. Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that helps save and improve the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. All money raised stays in the community. The money First Credit Union raised was donated to Tucson Medical Center's Pediatric Unit and Phoenix Children's Hospital's "One Darn Cool School". This in-hospital program provides K-12 education to hospitalized patients.
